Summary Schramm (1993)

As serial killer Lothar Schramm lies dying in his own blood, horrific memories of his miserable life of paranoia, self-harm and rejection flash before his eyes. A tragic look into the mind of a serial killer.

Lothar Schramm is a simple man with complex problems, yet he seems like such a nice guy. He works as a taxi driver and lives by himself where he is happy to answer his door to strangers and kill them outright. As with many shy loner types he has a problem dealing with woman so he drugs them and photographs their nude bodies for sexual stimulation. He then murders his helpless victims and so goes the life of a deranged serial killer.

Lothar Schramm is a polite, lonely taxi driver and track runner with a deranged sex life and a non-existent social life. Lothar is plagued with a Borderline/Schizotypal personality disorder and will often self-mutilate and suffer from paranoid delusions such as his knee being amputated, female genitals with teeth, his eyeball being extracted and his skull splitting apart. The illness, paranoia and the rejection of a prostitute whom he loves leads Lothar to a life of murder and revenge where he routinely invites callers in for cognac, drugs them, assembles them in suggestive poses, takes photographs, rapes them and before finally murdering thing. He will also regularly drug the prostitute who rejects him and spitefully masturbate over her unconscious body. We see this through his final 60 minutes of life, where he has fallen off a ladder and is dying in a pool of his own blood. While dying, he see these horrific flashbacks of his miserable life and is taunted by visions of the life he wanted.
